Python 3 Object Oriented Programming: Harness the power of Python 3 objects – Dusty Phillips
Packt Publishing | 2010-07-26 | ISBN: 1849511268 | 404 pages | PDF | 2,4 MB

Object Oriented Programming is a very important aspect of modern programming languages.
The basic principles of Object Oriented Programming are relatively easy to learn. Putting them together into working designs can be challenging.

This book makes programming more of a pleasure than a chore using powerful Python 3 object-oriented features of Python 3. It clearly demonstrates the core OOP principles and how to correctly implement OOP in Python.

Object Oriented Programming ranks high in importance among the many models Python supports. Yet, many programmers never bother learning the powerful features that make this language object oriented.

The book teaches when and how OOP should be correctly applied. It emphasizes not only the simple syntax of OOP in Python, but also how to combine these objects into well-designed software.

This book will introduce you to the terminology of the object-oriented paradigm, focusing on object-oriented design with step-by-step examples. It will take you from simple inheritance, one of the most useful tools in the object-oriented programmer’s toolbox, all the way through to cooperative inheritance, one of the most complicated. You will be able to raise, handle, define, and manipulate exceptions.

You will be able to integrate the object-oriented and the not-so-object-oriented aspects of Python. You will also be able to create maintainable applications by studying higher level design patterns. You’ll learn the complexities of string and file manipulation, and how Python distinguishes between binary and textual data. Not one, but two very powerful automated testing systems will be introduced to you. You’ll understand the joy of unit testing and just how easy they are to create. You’ll even study higher level libraries such as database connectors and GUI toolkits and how they apply object-oriented principles.

Harness the power of Python 3 objects; it’s not just a scripting language

What you will learn from this book

-Implement objects in Python by creating classes and defining methods
-Separate different objects into a taxonomy of classes, and describe the properties and behaviors of those objects via the class interface
-Design public interfaces using abstraction, encapsulation, and information hiding
-Turn your designs into working software by learning the Python syntax
-Share implementation using inheritance
-Add functionality to the existing classes and built-ins using inheritance
-Share similar code between classes by abstracting it into a parent class
-Raise, handle, define, and manipulate exceptions using special error objects
-Understand when to use object-oriented features, and more importantly when not to
-Learn what design patterns are, and why they are different in Python
-Uncover the simplicity of unit testing and why it’s so important in Python
-Utilize common Python 3 modules, libraries, and frameworks
Genre: eLearning
Python is a dynamically-typed programming language that supports object-oriented and functional programming. It’s the brainchild of Guido van Rossum, who began writing Python in late 1989 and early 1990 as the scripting language for the Amoeba operating system.
Its design was inspired by a number of other languages, including C, Modula-3, and particularly the educational language ABC. Van Rossum released it publicly in 1991, and since then Python has been gathering a large and enthusiastic group of users including professional programmers, educators, and computer scientists. Van Rossum, who is known to all as just Guido, or sometimes the BDFL (“benevolent dictator for life”), is still Python’s lead developer and designer. Python gets its name from the Monty Python comedy troupe, and Python culture is peppered with references to those irreverent comedians (e.g. IDLE, after Eric Idle, is the name of the IDE that comes with Python).
Python is a general-purpose high-level programming language. Its design philosophy emphasizes code readability. Python claims to ?[combine] remarkable power with very clear syntax, and its standard library is large and comprehensive. Its use of indentation as block delimiters is unusual among popular programming languages.
Python supports multiple programming paradigms (primarily object oriented, imperative, and functional) and features a fully dynamic type system and automatic memory management.

Due to its power, simplicity, and complete object model, Python has become the scripting language of choice for many large organizations, including Google, Yahoo, and IBM. In Python 3 Essential Training, Bill Weinman demonstrates how to use Python 3 to create well-designed scripts and maintain existing projects. This course covers the basics of the language syntax and usage, as well as advanced features such as objects, generators, and exceptions. Example projects include a normalized database interface and a complete working CRUD application. Exercise files accompany the course.

Topics include:

A Python 3 quick start for experienced developers
Creating functions and objects
Using Python’s built-in objects and classes
Repeating code with loops and iterators
Understanding and using conditional expressions
Introduction to python programming for computer graphics
English | VP6 450kbps | 1280Ч720 | MP3 64kbps | 3h 21m | 471.8 MB
Genre: eLearning
This introductory chapter goes over why studios and software packages have been adopting Python as their langauge of choice. Topics will braise the subjects of who, why, what, when and where.

Variables:
Variables are one way for getting data around in Python. This chapter goes over some common variable types, such as strings, integers, and floats, along with specific functions for them.

Lists, Dictionaries, and Tuples:
This chapter goes over the multi-item variable types in Python. As with strings, there are a lot of built in ways for accessing the information stored with them, and this is all covered with ease.

My First Tool:
At this point in the video it best suits us to start our very first usable tool. The examples shown are based on project management for artists needing directories for Maya, XSI, and other CG apps in their user directories. As simple as this script is, it is quite handy to use.

Reading and Writing:
Python provides some great ways of reading in external files, both text, ascii, and binary, as well as writing them back out. This chapter goes over how to use this functionality as well as how to utilize it for some simple tools.

Modules:
This chapter starts to pick up how to import new features into Python via importing modules. Modules are packages for Python written externally, and imported into Python. These can add functionality like SMTP and HTML features, new math utilities, network utilities, and access to 3D and 2D packages and their custom commands.

Classes:
A small leap into Object Oriented Programming, and a brief example of the class system in Python.

Real World Example:
If you ever have tried to translate 3d object data from one application to the next, you will notice that materials are often translated as polygon groups, but the model is often not separated. A simple script is shown that will speed up model to part separation.

115 Python Programming Ebooks (July 2011)
English | PDF | 115 Books | All In One | 754 MB

This Collection has 115 Python programming books as of July 2011. It is basically an updated version of the older Jan 2011 Collection. In this update, 15 books were added or updated.

Older editions are intentionally excluded if a newer edition is available. Source code files are generally excluded as well. Books on popular specific topics such as Jython, IronPython, Django, Zope, etc. are excluded too, because there are several books on each of those topics, and I think they are specific to include here. A few of the included books are in multiple formats, as indicated by their respective names. I prefer PDF, CHM and HTML formats only.

A full-text Adobe PDF search index for PDF books is also included. This was created using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. As long as you have a program that can use the index pdx files, for example Adobe Reader X, this will allow you to search the included PDF books with ease for any specific topic that you need information about.
